Just to say Peter got on the correct train, in the right direction and
arrived in Dunbar as arranged. We had a great round of golf and some good chatter, and I did suggest satnav for his further adventures

I realized when I got back that I had left a zipper pouch in your golf bag, containing sunblock, insect repellant and some anti-itch cream. I do not need them back; enjoy what of them you will, and please just dump the rest. I do not need the zipper pouch, either. If I left anything else in the bag, drop me a private email, and I'll see it when I get back home. Again, thanks so much for a perfect day, including whatever you did to produce such ideal weather. That is an awesome talent in/of itself! All the best, Peter |

Cancel my previous message, Alan. I just now found the zipper pouch lurking at the bottom of the backpack -- it is as dark as the fabric of the backpack, and I missed it first time round. <Sometimes I drive myself nuts, just for the record.> Peter |

I bet against Peter's navigational abilities. I owe you a pint, Alan!

I'll bring some of those crazy pound things with me. Though, you'll be buying ME a pint after I win our beer match. :-) Then we'll both have to drink two pints. Won't that be a bother?

Fortunately, there were some more uniformed folks down there who set me straight, and I was up, across and back down to the correct platform in plenty of time to catch the right train. On my way back up and across, I mentioned to the original person that he had misdirected me; he had only a sheepish look and a mumbled apology for me. Might have been his first day on the job or something. Whew! |
