Default Rules for Determining Distances for Par

I read that in 1911 the USGA laid down rulse for determining distances for par as: Up to 225 yards - par 3; 225 - 425 yards - par 4; 426 - 600 yards - par 5; and over 601 yards - par 6.

Of course, I've never seen a par 6 hole; but I wonder if those rules still obtain; or have they been changed or eliminated? Does anyone have information about this or know where it might be found?
